Island Unity Land Co-op acquired its first housing units with support from Prince Edward Island’s Community Housing Expansion Pilot (CHEP). The initiative is led by the province in partnership with the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada), which is the project proponent. CHEP helps non-profit and co-operative housing organizations expand housing through acquisitions and new construction. This collaboration ensures the homes remain at-cost and community-owned.
324 & 326 Pope Road
Tucked away at 324 & 326 Pope Road, is a peaceful and friendly residential community in the heart of Summerside.
The community is made up of two three-storey apartment buildings, each equipped with elevators for easy access. Built in 2014 and 2015, the buildings are modern, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to support a comfortable lifestyle. There are 56 homes in total, offering a choice of two- and three-bedroom layouts that suit a variety of needs—from independent seniors to growing families.
